Artifacts Ep 30

A new chapter…

This week we doing a link round-up - mostly house tings, furniture, and interior inspo! And a quick catch-up while we’re at it.

Can you do me a favor? Based on the last few Episodes (27-30), how would you introduce this newsletter to a friend? (I’m trying to get more clear on the value of Artifacts). Send me a note 🙂

Artifacts is a weekly newsletter exploring the curiosities and intersections of modern business building, identity making, and creative detours.

Quick Catchup

What’s up everyone! It’s been two weeks since the last Artifacts went out. I had big plans and trend reports ready, but life got out of hand!

Since ep 29, we closed on our house and moved in. We’re still settling down, buying furniture and in that transition from brick and wood to a real home.

Here are some quick snapshots.

I’m sure there’ll be more updates in the future as we dive more into furniture, interior design, and all the things that turn a house into a home.

The Best Links

As I mentioned above, we’ve been doing quite a lot of shopping in the last several weeks, and I wanted to share some actually useful items we’ve purchased that you might find curious.

  1. The Flexispot Standing Desk - My wife has had this desk for a couple of years now, and I was such a fan that I copped one for myself. In SF, I had a shitty knock-off that I bought off of Amazon, and the build quality of the Flexispot is leaps and bounds ahead. This is also good because of the small drawer for extra storage. It’s very easy to assemble, too.

  2. My Latest Youtube Video - A shameless but FREE plug. I’m (re)starting my YouTube journey! My content will mostly be fitness/weightloss related for the first few videos, with some lifestyle-type vibes sprinkled in. But my goal is to make one video a week for the rest of the year! Let me know what you think 🙂

  3. The Common Wine Glasses - I saw these at the East Fork Atlanta store and instantly fell in love. There’s something about the size, weight in hand, and height that is just so cute and weird and perfect. I am about to cop. Thank you, Tuna, for the gift card. Also, they’re on sale.

  4. The Dejsa Table Lamp - We picked this lamp up from Ikea for my wife’s office, and it’s very cute. Adds that perfect warmth to any space with some nice lines, especially for the price.

  5. A Custom Water Color - My wife got a custom watercolor painting of our SF apartment done with this artist on Etsy. It was not that expensive, but it’s so lovely and meaningful.

  6. The Half Glass Set by Material - I don’t know why, but I just love little glasses. They’re so impractical because I be chugging water, but they have the look.

  7. A Home Maintenance Tracker - This is not something that I purchased, but I put together a simple home maintenance tracker after watching mad YouTube videos. Breaks down what you need to be taking care of in your house on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  8. A Home Binder - This is something I saw on social media, but basically, it’s getting a simple 3-hole binder and putting all your home-related documents there. I got this 3-inch one from Amazon. It makes finding and organizing all the warranties and home appliance info so much easier.

  9. This LG OLED 65’ TV - We are about to buy this tomorrow, but after watching reviews and seeing it in person, I think this is a solid higher-end TV. Big upgrade from our UHD that I got for $250 like four years ago.

I know this week was a bit different than others, but hopefully you enjoyed nonetheless!
